How to disable collision mitigation system freightliner? ›

The system can be temporarily disabled by pressing the OnLane switch. This disables warnings for 15 minutes.

On your question, unfortunately there is no way of bypassing this system. It is all integrated with many modules in the vehicle for cruise, stability, and safety systems. The radar will need to be replaced in order for the truck to operate as intended.

Since that is a government mandated safety feature; the collision mitigation cannot be turned off, and the volume can't be adjusted either.

If you want to turn off CMBS just press and hold down the CMBS button located to the left of the steering column until you hear a beep and a confirmation message displays in the vehicle's Driver Information Interface. CMBS will now be shut down until you turn off the ignition.

From the Settings menu, select Driver Assist > Pre-Collision. Toggle Active Braking on or off. With Active Braking disabled, the Ford Pre-Collision Assist will notify you when a collision risk is detected but will not assist in braking to avoid a collision.

HSA is "on" by default. It can be turned off by pressing and releasing the override switch on the dash. HSA will turn back on after the first successful launch. When the vehicle is stopped on a grade greater than 3% and in a forward mode or reverse, depress the service brakes then release them.

You can turn the AEB feature off through the Settings menu of your infotainment system. You may also see this yellow icon if the windshield in front of the AEB camera is obscured, or if the camera lens is dirty.
